LIFE TOGETHER

Dear Family and Friends,

It is an overcast morning. It is also very quiet here in the house. Julie is with her father and our youngest son Michael in Maui. I have just spent the last couple hours meditating on a passage out of Luke. Two weeks ago, our son-in-law Race tragically lost his youngest brother Rory in a car accident. Last week, I experienced my first ever total solar eclipse. Yesterday, I met with and was much encouraged by the executive committee of the Prague Tyrannus Hall. On Saturday, the Tyrannus and Lydia Halls Board will meet, and we will decide on how to go about funding future projects. Within the next two weeks, Julie and I are expecting the arrival of our 9th grandchild. Life and death, family and ministry, discouragement and encouragement interweave throughout your life and ours. And we need each other as we seek to follow our Lord and learn from Him in all of this.

This is precisely what happened last month when the three Tyrannus Halls of Europe – Prague (Czechia), Budapest (Hungary) and Cluj (Romania) – met together for the first time. At the initiative of a student leader in the Cluj Tyrannus Hall last fall, an all-Europe Tyrannus Hall weekend was planned. Staff and students from all the Halls gathered in Cluj on the weekend before Easter. When the weekend was over, this student leader texted me the following,

So the European TH weekend has just ended, and I wanted to let you know that it was a huge success. We're sorry that you couldn't participate, but I'm sure the others and the photos will tell you everything about this event. I, personally, am really thankful to you for connecting us at the beginning, and am looking forward to other similar events, hoping that you'll be able to come and be with us in the future. Soli Deo Gloria!

There is nothing better than growing together as disciples of our Lord. Here is a sampling of the photos and videos from that weekend…
